After poking around at the area creator I came up with a few tips and tricks I'll be posting and more as I keep exploring the area creator.

When arranging <#monsteredit spawnroomsadd, X> you can force certain patterns out of monsters depending on which rooms are and aren't a part of their spawn rooms.  Its important to remember that monsters can't spawn *or* enter any room not on their spawnroom list.

For example, you have 5 rooms connected in a straight line and the first two and last two are on the monster's spawn list (#1, #2, #4, #5).  As players in the first two rooms begin killing monsters they respawn in either the first two or last two rooms and cannot cross through the center room (#3) to reach the other side.  Eventually all the monsters will be in rooms where they cannot reach the players allowing them a break in spawns until they enter a room the monsters cannot spawn in and re-enter a room they can spawn in. 

You can arrange more complicated setups than a straight line however so long as there are rooms not on their spawn list dividing each group of rooms the monsters can spawn in.  This allows for more flexibility with allowing players to explore an area you made without an endless tide of monsters.

Here is a small diagram showing the above arrangement with the red numbered rooms (1, 2, 4, 5) being ones they can spawn in and the green room (3) being the one they cannot spawn in or enter.
