The Rik'Tan

The Rik'tan, beginning as a collective of forest-dwelling Elves and Half-elves, prioritize the preservation of Pell's expansive woodlands and jungles above all else. Today their numbers encompass many different races of Pell all dedicated to a shared purpose.  They perceive themselves as nature's last bastion against the encroachment of intelligence, believing that the intricate balance of the natural world must be safeguarded to ensure the survival of all life on Pell.

Deity: While devoid of specific gods, the Rik'tan revere the forest itself and all its natural manifestations. There are no codified rules within this belief system; rather, the primary obligation is the protection and stewardship of the forests and jungles, necessitating residence within the very habitats they defend.

Sacred Presence: The Rik'tan are bound by a profound sense of divine presence, ancient and timeless, that permeates the forests and jungles of Pell. This mystical connection serves as the foundation of their cohesion and purpose, compelling them to action without the need for explicit rationale.

Ethical Code: Respect for the forest and its myriad life forms forms the cornerstone of Rik'tan ethics. Visitors and companions are expected to uphold this reverence, as any disrespect toward nature is vehemently condemned.

There are many factions within the looseknit order of the Rik'tan, some encompassing the protection of a singular forest, others are large expansive factions with followers all over Pell.

The Guardians of Balance

Originating from a diverse mix of races, the Guardians of Balance espouse a philosophy centered on the maintenance of equilibrium in all aspects of life. They view the universe as a delicate tapestry of interconnected forces, each reliant on the other for harmony and stability.

Deity: Rather than worshiping individual deities, the Guardians of Balance venerate the cosmic forces that govern existence. Their faith is rooted in the belief that the preservation of balance is paramount, and they strive to align their actions with this cosmic harmony.

Rituals and Obligations: Guardians partake in rituals aimed at restoring balance where it has been disrupted. These rituals may involve acts of mediation, reconciliation, or environmental stewardship. Their primary obligation is to identify and rectify imbalances wherever they manifest.

Code of Conduct: Guardians adhere to a code of conduct that emphasizes moderation, empathy, and cooperation. They seek to mitigate conflicts and disparities, recognizing that the disruption of balance in any aspect of life jeopardizes the well-being of all.

The Sentinels of the Green

Hailing from a lineage of druids and nature devotees, the Sentinels of the Green revere the sanctity of the natural world with an unwavering devotion. They perceive themselves as guardians appointed by the spirits of the land to protect and nurture the verdant realms of Pell.

Deity: The Sentinels acknowledge the presence of nature spirits and ancestral guardians, whom they honor as manifestations of the divine within the natural world. Their worship is characterized by rituals that invoke these spirits and seek their guidance and blessing.

Sacred Duty: Embracing a sacred duty bestowed upon them by the spirits of the land, the Sentinels dedicate their lives to the preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems. They cultivate symbiotic relationships with the flora and fauna of the forests, viewing themselves as stewards rather than masters.

Conservation Ethics: The Sentinels abide by a strict code of conservation ethics, which prohibits the exploitation or desecration of natural resources. They advocate for sustainable practices and work tirelessly to combat environmental degradation, viewing each tree felled or species lost as a grievous affront to the divine order of the world.

There are rumors of a third faction, one comprised of druids and rangers who succumbed to the allure of corruption and darkness within the depths of the forest.  Those who dare speak of them, do so from the hushed corners of their cities and towns, far from where the vengeful monster's of nature dwell.
